Make a Private LCD Monitor

You can finally do something using your outdated LCD monitor which you have lying around in your attic. Switch it right into an incredible secret agent monitor! It is going to appear like simply a bright screen to everyone, however, not in your case, since you will have a unique "magic" items. Awesome guide by Instructables user dimovi. Make sure to take a look at video demonstrating how it's working once finished down the page.

Find your old monitor, which you are willing to sacrifice.

Remove the plastic frame by unscrewing all the screws on the back.

Cut the polarized film, "Most LCD monitors have two films on the glass - a polarized one to filter out the light you are not supposed to see, and a frosted anti-glare film. The anti-glare film we don't need, the polarized one we do - it is used for the glasses, also remember the orientation."

Clean the film adhesive

Before even making the glasses, you can test the monitor with the polarized film!

Cut the lenses out of polarized film.

Finally assemble the glasses and you are ready for some fun!

And finally see this cool LCD monitor in action !

  2. I've pulled off the polarized film but the image doesn't come out clear whenever I test the film. It only comes out clear on direct contact with the screen. Any tips?

  3. I took out the polarized film and put the screen back together, but the image doesn't come out clear unless it has direct contact with the monitor. Any suggestions on how to give it a clear image without giving it direct contact?
